The lineage of the Nirmal Vidya Peeth Seva Society stems from the Nirmal Samparda which was created by Satguru Guru Gobind Singh Ji blessed five Sikhs to go to the seat of knowledge at the time, namely, Varanasi for the study of Philosophy, Language, Logic etc... by means of Student-Disciple of Pedagogy. This was done in retaliation to the comments of Pandit Raghunath, a notable scholar in the Darbar (Court) of the Tenth Master (Guru Gobind Singh Ji) when asked by fellow Sikhs to study the various branches of knowledge.  These Five-Sikhs, namely, Sant Karam Singh Ji, Sant Ram Singh Ji, Sant Ganda Singh Ji, Sant Veer Singh Ji, and Sant Saina Singh were given the boon that they shall obtain the Vidya (Knowledge) which takes others years to attain, they will attain in the matter of months, this is recorded by the notable Giani Gian Singh in the Sri Guru Panth Parkash - 


ਪਢੋ ਅਬੈ ਤੁਮ ਕਾਂਸ਼ੀ ਜਾਏ। ਨਿਗਮਾਗਮ ਬਿਦ੍ਯਾ ਮਨ ਲਾਏ ॥੫੩॥ਔਰ ਪਢਤ ਜੋ ਬਰਸਨ ਮੈਂ ਹੈ। ਤੁਮੈ ਮਹੀਨਰੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਸੋ ਐਹੈ।ਜੇਤਿਕ ਬਿਦ੍ਯਾ ਸਭਿ ਜਗ ਮੈ ਹੈ । ਗੁਰੁ ਘਰ ਮੈਂ ਅਬਿ ਆਇ ਸੁ ਰੈਹੈ ॥੫੪॥
Now you shall leave to Kashi (Varanasi) for the purpose of study, studying the sermon of scriptures such as the Vedas and Shastras with all there heart. The knowledge for which takes up many years, you shall attain in the matter of months. All the Vidya (Forms of Knowledge) which exists in this manifold, will now come and reside in the home of the Guru.

These five-Sikhs studied intensely for the matter of thirteen-years living as recluses in the city of Varanasi, studying from the likes of the great Pandit Sadananda. Therefore, In order to promulgate the knowledge of Brahmvidya (Spiritual Wisdom) and interpretation of Gurbani has the Sri Nirmal Vidya Peeth been founded by Sriman Sant Darshan Singh Ji Shastri Vedantacharya (Banaras Wale)  who have dedicated their life to the preservation of Gurmat/Brahmvidya by renouncing the world and its sensory objects in devotion to god and to impart the knowledge of Gurbani and Gurmat far and wide. 

The Shri Nirmal Vidya Peeth is located at Sri Dera Kila Sahib, The Tapobhumi (Place of Penance) of Sriman Sant Baba Dhyan Singh Ji and the site where once the great Pandit Surain Singh otherwise known by name of Svami Shankarananda due to their immense knowledge and penance they were seen akin to the 8th Century Indian Philosopher, namely, Adi Shankaracharya. The Spiritual Site is surrounded by greenery and peace from all four directions and is an excellent place for Meditation and Spiritual Learning.
